All of us work in different ways, but here goes a nice link from a chap explaining how he sketches out and thinks through his artwork. So much Christian visual art (at least from the evangelical circles I have moved in, and especially when it is used for evangelism) can't resist adding written words into the images - lest the folks who see it (read it?) don't get the message unless it is spelled out. Richard is not afraid to let viewers ponder these things for themselves - if they can be bothered - and draw their own conclusions.
