    Jon Simpson in Turkey

    April 27 - May 07

Wherever the singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Simpson has been – and he’s been around the world – he has been an artist who gets to the emotional core of his subject matter.

Headlined by Jon Simpson, "The Freedom Project," with several international singers and dancers, gave 9 concerts, in shopping malls, an amphitheater, a college and more. Incorporating some elements of anti-human trafficking, through song, dance, and speaking, the team presented artistic witness to the fact that we are all in need of freedom. In Jon's words: "I was very encouraged that this theme resonated with people quite strongly. We were able to have good conversations and sometimes prayer with people after concerts... more than 500 people provided their information for follow-up!" Check out a video from the tour

    StoryBox in Kosovo

    June 25 - July 09

Based in Istanbul, StoryBox mixes a little bit of local musical influence into their blend of Western rock/pop. In Turkey, set lists usually contain well-known Turkish pop, Western covers and original tunes - many of which tell stories. Between the songs, you can also be sure that someone will tell a story or two as well, and in recent years shows have added more dance and drama elements.

Check them out on Nimbit or ReverbNation, StoryBox uses a mix of English and Turkish pop/rock and stories (sung and spoken) to share the faith. Check out the StoryBox website.

    Tour HighlightsVideo

Storybox put on several concerts in Kosova. The crowds were often very receptive, even to the point of being rowdy. The highlight of the tour was the concert given in the Gypsy district. The Gypsies of Kosova are often marginalized and mistreated, so even having a group come to entertain them was a huge blessing. Afterwards, a group of young men asked to hear more about the Gospel, so the next day four band members and a local pastor met with them. The young men asked deep questions about Christianity and even drew the restaurant owner into their discussion. The sharing went on for 2 hours! Check out a video from the tour

    No Longer Music in Iraq

    July 19 - July 25

"No Longer Music" (NLM) was founded in Amsterdam in 1985 by David Pierce and has been touring the world ever since. Since its formation, NLM has made its mark through its bold and creative blend of music and theater. In many ways NLM has been and continues to be a refreshing exception to a music scene rarely daring to be different. Throughout the years the style of NLM has adapted but its commitment to cutting edge visuals and theatrics has ensured that international demand for the band has stayed strong. Check out the No Longer Music website.

    Tour HighlightsVideo

NLM did four concerts in heavily Kurdish parts of Iraq, which rarely sees "Western" rock concerts. Because of this, the youth and families in the area were hugely receptive and participated eagerly in the concerts. During the concerts, NLM was able to clearly preach about Christ. Large groups then stayed around afterward to accept tracts and talk with representatives from local churches. Never before had there been such open evangelism in these areas; the local churches were shocked and encouraged by the positive reception and hope for long-lasting fruit. NLM gave five concerts through Turkey. They were deeply encouraged by their positive reception in several very Islamic and nationalistic cities despite their clear Gospel message. Hundreds filled out the follow-up cards so that local churches can contact them. In one city, the band was surprised to find that they were the opening show for the city-wide Ramadan festivities (Ramadan is a month-long Islamic fast) and that the mayor, cities officials and a local television station would attend! Afterwards, while the group gave out tracts and DVDs, the mayor presented the band with flowers! Check out a video from the tour

This is one of the most encouraging concert tours we have had in Kosovo. The first concert was poorly attended and discouraging. After that, however, our concerts averaged hundreds of attendees, and we were encouraged to preach the Gospel more clearly than we ever had before. The local churches, who were working closely with us on follow-up, were blown away by the large numbers of people who stayed after the concerts to hear more about the Gospel and ask Christ into their lives. Pray that the fruit from this heartening tour may be long-term! Check out a video from the tour

All our concerts were planned to be outside, but our first concert was rained out, so we played in a church hall. It turned out to be a wonderful night and many of the small crowd responded to David's preaching. We played four concerts in Razgrad, Isperih, Veliko Tarnovo and Lyaskovets. We were able to preach boldly and saw many respond. There was a positive article written about our concert in a national newspaper (see image). In all, hundreds had the opportunity to hear the Gospel at our concerts and 93 people filled out our surveys indicating that they wanted to know more about Jesus. Check out a video from the tour

    UniShow in Kosovo

    August 22 - September 04

One Life: Dustin connects with his audience speaking from his own experiences dealing with: rejection, parents divorce, suicide, relationships, purity, perseverance, becoming a world champion and more. One Message: to live a life surrendered to Jesus Christ. One Wheel: Dustin illustrates his life and message through a one-of-akind presentation using the tool of extreme unicycling to captivate youth of all ages. Check out the UniShow website.

    Tour Highlights

In total we had 9 events in 6 cities and shared the good news with thousands unicycling, dancing and using fire poi. Our team of 8 from Switzerland, Denmark, USA and Kosovo were very unified and God blended all our abilities well to serve Him. We felt constant spiritual opposition so we ramped up our prayer support and took note that we were stirring up strongholds. Several shows took place in schools with the entire school attending the performance. One local pastor said that as a result of the Unishow, he was now more accepted in the community and had a chance to form deeper relationships.

    Tour Highlights

UniShow had 7 events in 5 cities. The performances included unicycling, dance and fire poi. Several of the shows were in smaller villages with great local reception; other shows were in bigger cities with over 1,000 attendees. The last performance in the capital, Tirana, was crazy with kids running on stage, fights in the crowd, police intervention and a misbehaving sound system. In spite of it all, the message of Truth was shared openly. A local church said that as a result of the concerts, they were able to reach many youth who are now regularly participate in church activities.

UniShow, StoryBox and friends in Turkey

    September 16 - September 30

Combining live music (storybox.org.uk) and unicycling (unishow.org) - along with dance, drama and other elements such as an illusionist on occasions always turns a few heads.

    Tour HighlightsVideo

This year the sharing and dramas reflected the theme of raising awareness about violence against women. We have found many open doors for performances when we address a social issue and weave in God's love. There were 11 shows, 8 at shopping malls. We were well received in all of them and many graciously fed us. The show received press all across Turkey. The outreach opportunities were maximized, with between 5,000 – 10,000 watching the shows, conversations following the events and hundreds of surveys. Katie especially thankful to share the full Gospel with a young woman after a show. Check out a video from the tour

    Jon Simpson in Kyrgyzstan

    October 01 - October 15

Wherever the singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Simpson has been – and he’s been around the world – he has been an artist who gets to the emotional core of his subject matter.
Simpson’s creative melodic rock possesses a poignant resonance that is part plea for a better world, and part determined declaration to do something about it. Check out the Jon Simpson website.

    Tour Highlights

Our group of seven artists (Jon, two other musicians, three dancers, and one extreme unicyclist) did a series of gigs and shared our hearts with people, onstage and off. Our tour organizer/country host, translator, and soundman (all from Kyrgyzstan) rounded out the team. We did 11 events, primarily in schools, but also in a university and an institution for disabled men. The show at the institution was particularly moving, as we had been there before and the men there remembered us. It was incredible to see them, many of them unloved and rejected, enjoying the music and hearing the message.

    Bizim Psikolog in Turkey

    October 25 - October 31

Bizim Psikolog (Our Psychologist) is a play styled on day-time Turkish talk shows.
Guests come and share their problems with two psychologists. We then see them put this advice into action back home. In between scenes, a live band plays well known songs. All the actors are Turkish nationals, and our team (plus equipment!) helps form the band with some of the church’s musically gifted young people.
Although the play itself doesn’t preach Jesus, Pastor Ahmet, as one of the play’s psychologists offers biblical wisdom and we see how it transforms home situations. After each performance he also makes it clear that the church cares for their city.

    Tour HighlightsVideo

The play came back for its 3rd yearly showing in Southeast Turkey. The first showing was hugely successful; more than 300 people came to watch and took Pastor Ahmet's booklet. One man was so convicted that he called Pastor Ahmet directly after the play and asked for marriage counseling over the phone. The second showing was less attended, due to the double tragedy of the Van earthquake and recent terrorist activity in the area. However, we were still well received and hope to come back for a fourth year in the future. Check out a video from the tour
